Mountain Mission School
The United Company Foundation is a vital partner as we work to deliver the MMS child from a position of need and future dependence. MMS provides a home, church, and school, for as long as needed, just as we have throughout our nearly 100-year history. Dedicated staff spiritually guide and work to empower each child.
Shoes & Hoodies
Communities In Schools of Appalachian Highlands (CIS-AH) surrounds students with a community of support, empowering them to stay in school and achieve in life. In partnership with The United Company Foundation and The James W. & Frances G. McGlothlin Foundation, CIS-AH provides Shoes & Hoodies to over 1,700 students each year in Bristol, VA and Buchanan County, VA, with each student receiving a new pair of shoes and a school-branded hoodie.
CIS-AH is committed to providing hope and ensuring students and families are not just surviving - but thriving, and this is a great example of partnerships bringing our community together to support students and families.
Camp for Kids
Camp for Kids is an opportunity for elementary, middle, and high school students to earn a way to summer camp. Students who attend come from all walks of life, but specifically those who may not have access to a summer camp experience. Students are selected through partner organizations in Bristol, TN and VA, as well as, Buchanan County, VA and earn their way through completing volunteer hours within their community.
