Scholarship Program

The United Company Foundation is a vital partner as Mountain Mission School helps children move from a position of need toward a future of independence. MMS provides a home, church and school for as long as needed, building on its nearly 100-year history.

Dedicated staff provide spiritual guidance, encouragement and the tools students need to succeed today, tomorrow and in the years ahead.

Our approach

Three foundations for a stronger future

01

Educating Today, Preparing for Tomorrow

02

Nourishing Kids for Better Health and Better Learning

03

Empowering Kids by Providing Challenges and Opportunities

90%+of MMS residents go on to college, universities and community colleges, according to the school's original program overview.

The outcome is an opportunity for meaningful employment and a future that may otherwise have been out of reach. MMS graduates can help break the cycle of poverty for their families — a legacy worthy of investment.

What a blessing The United Company Foundation has been to the children of Mountain Mission School. For nearly 100 years this school has strived to serve those who need a little help in life and without the assistance of people like yourselves, this could not be accomplished. On behalf of every child we serve, I thank you for your financial contributions, dedicated personal service and continued prayers on our behalf. I am thankful that you have been blessed and are able, willing and eager to share that blessing with others. What better example of Christian living.

A journey through American history

Discovering the nation's capital

Led by Mark and Rachel Hood, seventeen seniors explored the National Museum of American History, National Archives, Holocaust Museum, Library of Congress, Mount Vernon and U.S. Capitol.

Visits to national memorials, Arlington National Cemetery, Ford's Theatre and the National Museum of African American History and Culture gave students opportunities to reflect on sacrifice, government and civic responsibility. The group also attended “Something Moving,” visited the Victims of Communism Museum and International Spy Museum, and spent time together in Alexandria.

Students returned with new perspectives on history, public service and the experiences of others around the world.
